Suffragette Event Day at Norwich Castle

Saturday 10 November 2018, 10:30 – 15:30

Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery

Norwich castle museum hosted a day of activities celebrating the suffragettes, including re-enactments of Miriam Pratt’s 1913 trial, talks from local historians, a Feminism and Fashion discussion led by the curator of the Norfolk Museums Costumes & Textiles collections, with family-friendly craft activities.

We used materials from the Kenney archive to spark discussions about the varied creative methods used by the suffragettes to protest and to put across their message. Participants also had an opportunity to design their own zine!

There was also an opportunity for members of the public to record their own stories to be published on the project website.
