Description
This suffragette mass demonstration on the 18th June 1910 was one of the earliest mass marches organised by the suffrage movement. Up to 15 000 women marched from the Embankment to Royal Albert Hall. Many of the women carried arrows on poles, representing the “broad arrow” symbols used on prisoners’ uniforms at the time, to demonstrate that they had they been imprisoned for their militant acts.
