BUCKINGHAM PALACE
PRIVATE 11th October 1924
Dear Madam,
I am commanded by the Queen to acknowledge the receipt of the letter which you were so good as to address to the Lady-in- Waiting on October 6th.
In reply I am to express to you Her Majesty’s thanks for your kind thought, but to say that, in view of the large number of somewhat similar requests which are received in regard to the presentation of books, it is not possible for the Queen to accede to the suggestion which you have put forward.
I am, Dear Madam,
Yours very truly,
Harry Verney [Handwritten signature]
Private Secretary to H.M.The Queen.
Miss Annie Kenney,
